The Billetto Fee is 6% + £0.4 per ticket (max £9.99) excl. VAT. The organiser can choose whether to pass this fee on to the ticket buyer or to absorb the fee.
Passing on the fee
If the organiser chooses to pass the fee on to the ticket buyer, the buyer pays the price of the ticket and the added Billetto Fee.
Note: As an organiser, if you choose to pass the Billetto Fee on to the ticket buyer, you will see the total sum of sales excluding the Billetto Fee in your Sales Overview.
Absorbing the fee
If the organiser chooses to absorb the fee, the buyer only pays the ticket price set by the organiser. After the ticket sales are over, the Billetto Fee is deducted from the total ticket revenue before it is paid out to the organiser.
Note: As an organiser, if you choose to absorb the Billetto Fee, you will see the total sum of ticket sales and the Billetto Fee in your Sales Overview. Your Total Payout shows the amount you’re actually going to receive (i.e. minus the Billetto Fee). You can also view the Billetto Fee breakdown under “Transaction costs”.
This fee structure has been implemented for all events published after March 7, 2018. If you have published an event before March 7, continue reading below.
Events published before 07.03.2018
Payment Processing Fee
Due to updated EU legislation, from January 13, 2018, Billetto has been charging organisers a separate Payment Processing Fee in addition to the fees outlined above. Billetto has introduced the current single-fee structure on March 7, 2018 to make the fees more transparent and simple for all parties.
Events published between January 13, 2018 and March 7, 2018 will retain the settings where both the Payment Processing Fee and the reduced Billetto Fee are charged. If you have published an event between these dates, your account will be separately charged a 2,5% Payment Processing Fee and the Billetto Fee at 3,5% (provided you have chosen to absorb this Billetto Fee instead of passing it on).
You do not have to notify Billetto to update your fee structure for future events. All events published after March 7, 2018 will have the new single-fee structure.
